"In Marbella, we can place up to 5 interns each year working in a Hotel there -- the months of availability for this work assignment are April through to November only.

For this program, you will arrive in Madrid and take your first two weeks of Intensive Spanish classes there first. Then, on the weekend after your classes end, you will take the train into Marbella. There you will be met and taken directly to your work assignment at the Hotel, which is also where you will be living. Your Internship will start that third Monday. For this program, your Adelante Director will be in Madrid. You will have regular contact with her via email, however she will not be "on-site" as she is based out of Madrid. You will have an Intern Supervisor based out of the Hotel for daily interactions as needed.

This is a very international, young and BUSY work environment. Shifts are for 7 hours each day, with a half hour break. All meals plus laundry and cleaning services are included (candidates actually live at the Hotel in a double-room with other international or American interns, for the duration of their program). There will be other international interns working there too from Germany, Sweden, Italy, etc.

Candidates with Tourism backgrounds will fare best here, however we have placed candidates from Marketing and Social Sciences and even Psychology and all have truly enjoyed themselves and learned quite a bit. One thing: you MUST be an outgoing person to have success in this placement! Another thing: your Spanish will improve immensely while in this placement, too!

Your duties will include any and all interaction with guests, not limited to: guest registration via computer and check-in and check-out; directing guests to their rooms and showing them the Hotel facilities; making change for guests; selling towels, phone cards, meal tickets, locker tokens; answering questions about the Hotel and Marbella in general; handing out sports equipment / games; counting the cash drawer and filing registration and other forms; typing and printing the Menu of the Day...to give you some examples! You will be able to answer the phones if your Spanish skills are up to it.

The Hotel is on a small hill (don't bring high heeled shoes for work!) in beautiful resort-town Marbella. There is a grocery store, ATM, Post Office and bank very close by. There is a bus station about 3 minutes walk from the Hotel, and most all travel is done using public transport: either taking the bus directly or heading into Malaga and catching a train for longer trips. Night life in Marbella is famous: plenty of places to go - same for shopping, plays and other activities.

                               $3,505 for 2 months
